TRACK-R is a tracker-inspired audio plugin for producers who want to transform drum breaks and sampled audio into new rhythms, with precise hands-on control.
Interface
This is the current development interface. It is the real plugin view, not a marketing illustration. Controls may change before release.
Enter slices and values on a step grid, and keep the whole pattern in view while you edit.
Inspect the sampled audio and the boundaries between slices on the waveform.
Build patterns, then arrange them into a longer part.
The development interface includes a tempo readout and time-stretching options. Exact stretch behaviour is still to be confirmed.
Capabilities
These are the intended capabilities. Items that are not finished are marked in the text.
Open a break and work with the individual sounds inside it.
Rewrite a rhythm on a grid, with a step for each hit you want to place.
Build short patterns, then combine them into a longer rhythmic arrangement.
Time-stretching options are part of the design. The exact behaviour is still to be confirmed, and no specific algorithm is a shipping claim.
Shape slices with creative controls and effects. Which controls ship is still being decided.
See the waveform and the slice boundaries while you edit, so the part can be inspected as well as heard.
Workflow
The workflow TRACK-R is being built around. This is not a confirmed operating procedure.
Divide a drum break or other sampled audio into the hits you want to reuse, and keep the boundaries in view.
Place slices on a step grid and edit the rhythm one hit at a time.
Shape slices with the plugin's creative controls and effects. The finished control set is still being confirmed.
Combine patterns into a longer arrangement as the idea changes.
Demo
The interactive sketch will sit in this frame. It is not connected yet, and this is not a simulation of the plugin.
Coming soon
A browser-based tracker prototype will be embedded here, so the workflow can be explored without installing the plugin.
Audio
A before-and-after comparison will live here once real recordings are ready.
